An Inspiring Letter From Mother to Son

Every mom has their own story. And in this inspiring letter from mother to son, I’ll be sharing a bit of mine. Every now and then, I like to do a journal type entry as this blog is not only for my readers, but it also leaves behind my memories.

So in this one, I’ll be sharing a bit of my past that has helped shaped me to be who I am today. Our children play a huge role in this and my story is the same, yet slightly different because it’s my story.

But just because it’s my story, it doesn’t mean it can’t help you or others. Plus, I want my son to know how he played a huge role in my life and how thankful I am to have had him when I did.

Although I went through many struggles and difficult times as a single mother for many years, I would not change a single thing.

I was still able to accomplish everything I wanted and more. So if you read along, I hope you find my story inspiring and motivating to help you accomplish your next goals.

Brief History Recap

No, I’m not going to give you a history lesson on myself, but perhaps sharing a bit might help you understand the letter to my son below a bit better.

My son’s biological father and I started dating in high school. We then dated for a few years afterwards, so I thought I had found the one. Who else thought they were going to last forever with their high school sweetheart?

But of course, things went south and did not work well. We split shortly after having my son, and with him not around in my son’s early years, I was left to be a single mother… at the age of 20.

At the time, I thought I had a good job. For my age, I suppose I did. And because I was getting paid well in a good position, my college classes had been slightly pushed to the side. That was… until I had my son.

Crazy isn’t it? You would think it would have been the other way around. But instead of running away, I ran towards the challenge.

And thankfully, it was the best decision I had ever made. It’s also what led me and allowed me to get to where I was when I wrote this letter from mother to son…as a college graduate.

My Graduation Thank You Letter From Mother To Son

Dear Dom,

The time has finally come for me to walk across the stage, officially a UH Bauer graduate, and it’s all thanks to you.

Before you were born, I had only completed 1 semester worth of classes. It wasn’t until you came along that I was motivated to follow this path, to lead us both to a better future. For 2.5 years, I worked full-time and attended classes full-time. A little over a year ago, I was blessed with a full ride scholarship which allowed me to step down from my management position and work part-time while still attending campus full-time. This opened up my path for new opportunities. I have since then been able to gain experience that I otherwise would not have had. It also allowed me more time to spend with you and was able to enroll you in several activities. Putting a smile on your face and ensuring you are healthy has always been my #1 priority.

I am now proud to say that your momma has officially completed her Bachelor degree and will be graduating Magna Cum Laude. I was blessed with many full-time opportunities and chose the best one for us. These past 4 years weren’t easy but they were definitely worth it and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Now, I want to say thank you! I would not have been able to get where I am without your beautiful smile motivating me everyday. You are the reason I got to where I am today. Thank you for helping me accomplish my dream!

I love you so much Dom and I am so grateful to be your mom!

Love,

Your Mami

An Inspiring Message to Mothers

I hope my inspirational letter to my son is something that you can relate to. And no, you don’t need to have a degree to relate.

The main message within the letter to my son is that he helped me accomplish my dream. He was enough to motivate me to do better, to be able to provide better for him. I’m sure you can relate to this.

As moms, we always try to be the best mom we can possibly be… for our children. They are the reason we try our best in whatever it is that we do. They are the reason and our driving force to give them the best life possible.

So next time you think you can’t do something, look into your children’s sweet innocent eyes. They are the only motivation you will ever need to accomplish anything else in this life. No it may not be easy, but anything for them is worth it. ♥

Follow Your Dream!

Our children don’t hold us back, we do. So instead of excuses, use them as fuel and motivation to go after your dreams, no matter how big or how small. YOU CAN DO THIS MAMA!

What’s your story? What’s your dream? I hope you found this post inspiring! Please share your thoughts below as I would love to hear from you!
